Live Sound Audio Prep + Console Technician Assistant
Job Description:
Full-Time Permanent Employment with Rat Sound.
As a Prep + Console Technician you will be reporting to the Shop Manager. You will be assigned shows, tours, or projects for which you will be in charge of integrating the various components to offer our customers and show crew pre-packed, tested, plug and play equipment packages. This includes prepping consoles, drive racks, amp racks + drive systems. You will also assist in general upkeep and maintenance of audio console and drive systems software platforms.
Location: Camarillo, CA
Responsibilities:
· Work closely with Project Managers, The Shop Manager, and other shop staff to prepare and test equipment packages pre-gig. This will include:
Configure and test console setups
Setup and test Waves, Pro Tools, and other recording setups with consoles.
Configure and test System Drive Racks with L-acoustics and Powersoft Amplifiers. Program L-acoustics amplifiers as needed.
· Inform supervisor of parts or supplies needed for repairs, as well as assisting in basic repairs.
· Assist in keeping all relevant platform’s software current.
· Scan equipment outgoing and incoming on Rat’s inventory system.
· Help guest show crew and engineers prepping @ Rat with questions and configuration assistance.
Requirements:
· Working knowledge of the following platforms: Digico, Avid, Waves, Dante, L-acoustics Network Manager, LA8 + LA12 Amplifiers, Pro Tools, Basic Audio Networking.
Compliance with all Rat Sound policies and procedures.
· Excellent organizational and time management.
· Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms.
· Availability to work full time.
· Flexibility to work some nights and weekends.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be authorized to work in the US.
Shop Speaker Guru - For Reference
Live Sound Speaker Prep, repair, testing.
Job Description:
Full-Time Permanent Employment with Rat Sound.
Rat Sound actively rents and maintains 750+ Pro Audio Live Sound speakers. Line arrays, Subwoofers, Stage Monitors, etc.
We need someone to help take charge of keeping this fleet in good working order. Scanning, prepping, testing, repair, routine maintenance, annual inspections, these are all part of the process. The ideal candidate will be able to suggest improvements to our current workflow to improve efficiency and better the quality of the items we rent and use.
Location: Camarillo, CA
Responsibilities:
Test, repair, maintain various models of Pro Sound speaker cabinets.
Establish new testing and maintenance protocols.
Inform supervisor of parts or supplies needed for repairs.
Scan equipment outgoing and incoming on Rat’s inventory system.
Requirements:
· Working knowledge of the repair and testing of Large Scale line array and similar speaker cabinets. The majority of our inventory is
L-acoustics
Compliance with all Rat Sound policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management.
Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms.
Availability to work full time.
Flexibility to work some nights and weekends.

General Shop Tech - For Reference

Job Type:
Full-Time Permanent Employment with Rat Sound
Location: Camarillo, CA
Responsibilities:
· Rack and de-rack audio equipment.
· Pack and unpack mic boxes, wireless racks, equipment racks, amp racks.
· Inform supervisor of parts or supplies needed for repairs, as well as assisting in basic repairs.
· Scan incoming and outgoing equipment as per pull sheet or return manifests
· Assist Speaker department with speaker prep, repair, and return.
· Assist Cable department with cable prep, scanning, de-prep, and repair.
· Assist Console/prep department with console, amplifier, and show preps.
· Assist in loading trucks as needed.
Requirements:
· This is an Entry-Level position: no experience necessary.
· Compliance with all Rat Sound policies and procedures.
· Excellent organizational and time management.
· Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal forms.
· Availability to work full time.
· Flexibility to work some nights and weekends.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
